There are still some farmers markets open during this winter season. We have some of them listed here for your convenience.


Freight Station Farmers’ Market, parking lot of Winchester Little Theatre, 315 W. Boscawen St., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday and Saturday. Beginning May 1, hours will change from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. Spring onions and a seasonal variety will arrive soon.

Shawnee Springs Market, 6656 North Frederick Pike, is open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Call 540-888-4164.

Shen-Val Farm Market, 2180 Fairfax Pike, White Post. Winter hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday to Sunday. Baked goods, Angus beef, sausage, country ham, brown eggs, Amish butter, citrus, apples, tomatoes, winter vegetables, apple butter, preserves, jellies, pickles. Call 540-868-0366.

West Oaks Farm Market, 1105 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday, closed Sunday. Local beef, pork, and lamb, apples and homemade goods. The market has taken over the country ham business from Oates Cash Grocery. Call 540-662-6622.

Z Street Market inside ZeroPak at 580 N. Cameron St., Winchester. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The market is indoor, year-round, and connected to the Virginia Brewing Company. The manager is Lea Vittitow. Call 540-686-5439. 

Richard’s Fruit Market, 6410 Middle Road, Middletown. Apples, jams, jellies, and beef available. Call 540-869-1455.
